9 steps
Prep:20minCook:40min
Om Ali, or Ali's mother in Arabic, is a delicious Egyptian dessert, made with Milk and ready-baked mille feuille pastry. I learned this recipe from my dear friend the great chef Monica Sidhom, so she takes the credit for this lovely taste.

Step 3
Heat your milk over medium heat. When it becomes hot, dissolve some sugar in it. Keep dissolving sugar till the milk's colour turns from white to a bit creamy. Don't worry if the milk tastes sweet, the taste will be balanced by the pastry (I added around 5-8 tablespoons of sugar)
