Heat the oil on the pan and when then add the meat. Cook the meat until it browns, for about 8 to 10 minutes on medium heat. While the meat is cooking, you can use a wooden spoon to separate the chunks of meat, because the ground meat tends to stick together.

When the meat is done, add the pelati, salt, peppper, chili powder and other spices. You can check the sauce and then decide if you want to add sugar. I always add just a tiny bit, since it neutralizes the sourness of the tomatoes.

While the meat is cooking, prepare the penne pasta by adding it to a pot filled with water. I always add a bit of oil and salt to the pot, but that's up to you. When the water boils, cook the pasta for about 8 minutes (you can always try it to see if it's done) on medium heat.
