Instructions
Step 1
Combine ground beef, lamb, and ingredients through dried oregano. Mix with hands until well combined. Form into six large meatballs.
Step 2
Combine Greek yogurt, juice of one lemon, garlic paste, chopped fresh dill and mint, grated cucumber, and salt and pepper to taste. Set aside for serving.
Step 3
Heat a large pan to medium to medium high heat. When the pan is at temperature, smack two meatballs into the pan and press down so the meatballs completely flatten and become thin patties. I use a grill weight or another heavy flat object (like a smaller pan or a can of beans). Cook on the first side for 3 minutes until the edges of the party start to brown.
Step 4
Flip patties and cook on the second side for another 3 minutes or until the edges on the second side start to brown and the patty is cooked through. This all happens pretty fast.
Step 5
Serve in a pita with lettuce, sliced tomato, cucumber, and onion, the home made tzaziki (yogurt) sauce, and a sprinkle of feta cheese.
