Ingredients

Chicken marinade
1 cupPlain Yogurt
0.5juice of lemon
3 clovesGarlic
finely grated 1 tsp of garlic powder
1 TbspGinger
finely grated or 1/4 tsp of ground ginger
2 tspGaram Masala
½ tspSalt
chicken breasts
cut into cubes
For the sauce
2 Tbspolive oil
1 TbspButter
1Onions
medium, finely diced
3 clovesGarlic
finely grated
1 TbspGinger
finely grated or 1/4 tsp of ground ginger
½ tspTurmeric Powder
1 tspGround Coriander
1 tspGround Cumin
1 tspGaram Masala
1 tspGround Red Chili Powder
1 cuptomato puree
1 cupHeavy Cream
salt
to taste
fresh coriander
to garnish
Instructions
Step 1
In a bowl, combine all chicken ingredients and marinate for 1 hour.
Step 2
In a large pot, heat oil on Medium-High. When hot, add chicken pieces, ensuring not to crowd the pan. Cook for 2-3 minutes a side, until browned. Set aside.
Step 3
In the same pan, add butter and Onions, and cook until soft and translucent. Add Ginger and Garlic, and sautee for 30-45 seconds. Then add Turmeric, Coriander Powder, Cumin, Garam Masala.
Step 4
Add Tomato Sauce, Ground Red Chili and season with salt to taste. Simmer for 15-20 minutes on low heat, stirring occasionally until Tomato Sauce thickens, and takes on a deep reddish brown colour.
Step 5
Add Chicken and Heavy Cream until mixture is thick.
Step 6
Garnish with fresh Coriander and serve with hot Basmati Rice, and/or Naan/Rotis.
