Instructions

Step 1
Place the avocado oil in a medium saucepan and warm it over medium-low heat
Step 2
Add the garlic and onion and cook, stirring frequently, until the onion just starts to soften, about 5 min
Step 3
Add the red pepper flakes and passata, season with salt and pepper, and stir until well combined
Step 4
Add about 2 cups of water to the sauce and bring to a boil
Step 5
Cover the pan, reduce the heat to medium-low and cook until the sauce has thickened, about 45 minutes
Step 6
While the sauce is simmering, bring a large pot of water to a boil
Step 7
Salt the water, add the pasta, and cook until al dente
Step 8
Add the drained tuna to the tomato sauce and continue to simmer for about 5 minutes
Step 9
Drain the pasta and toss it with some of the tomato sauce
Step 10
To serve, top each portion of pasta with more sauce and some of the parsley
