This quick and easy recipe is naturally sweetened and it has healthy fats and plant-based protein. The chocolate flavour is wonderful combined with oats and the figs which are the stars of the show.

Step 1
1. Chop figs into many small pieces. (This step is important if you want the flavour cooked into your oatmeal.)
2. Add your figs to a small pot with 1 cup of water and turn on the highest setting until it boils.
3. Now add your oats and cook for the specific amount of time printed on the package. 4. While the oats are cooking, measure 1 tablespoon of Cocoa powder. This will be added in when your oats are very close to being fully cooked. You will want to add your spices in the time that the oats are still being cooked so the spice is infused and adds a good flavour.
