For the white rice

Instructions

Step 1
Have caldero (large pot), large cooking spoon, mug, bowl to wash rice, and a lid
Step 2
Add water to pot (at least quarter filled)
Step 3
Turn on stove (high fire), heat water to a boil
Step 4
Add 3-4 cups of rice to bowl using mug, sift through rice, wash in cold water (2x)
Step 5
Pour rice into boiling water, grab large spoon and stir
Step 6
After stirring, drop a large spoon over rice (after rice levels) and water has to be just over the curve
Step 7
Add one large spoonful of cooking oil and stir
Step 8
Fill the large spoon halfway with salt and stir
Step 9
Taste water for saltiness, not too stong (medium salty)
Step 10
Raise to high fire and cover the pot with tight-fitting lid
Step 11
2-3 min later, remove lid and check rice for water (if water is still there, cover back up) no water has to be visible.
Step 12
Lower to low/med fire, take large spoon and scrape rice from sides to the center and then chop through the mass, and cover again.
Step 13
10-15 min later, take large spoon and flip the rice (bring bottom rice to top) and cover
Step 14
5-10 min later, should be close to done, flip again if needed (taste for softness).
