Bonnag is a traditional Manx bread which, it is believed, has been around for hundreds of years. Traditionally, Bonnag used to be a bread eaten daily by local Manxies, traditionally served with butter or some people like it dry

Instructions

Step 1
Heat the oven to 160°C (fan oven)

Grease a loaf tin with low fat spread
Step 3
Rub low fat spread into flour
Step 4
Add salt, bicarbonate of soda and cream of tartar and mix
Step 5
Add milk and mix well, until a dough like texture
Step 6
Bake in the oven for approximately 1 hour
