Gyros with Homemade Tzaziki Sauce

Instructions

Step 1
Mince onion and garlic very fine.
Step 2
Mix seasonings, onion, garlic, beef and lamb very well by hand. Refrigerate 1-2 hours.
Step 3
Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Line pyrex 8x8 pan with foil and line eith olive oil. Press meat evenly in pan, ensuring no air pockets. Bake 45 min-1 hour.
Step 4
Pour extra fat off once finished cooking. cover and refrigerate several hours.
Step 5
Slice meat very thin and saute in pan with olive oil over medium-high heat.

For Tzatziki Sauce

Step 6
Cut Cucumber lengthwise into fourths and remove seeds. Grate Cucumber in a bowl with paper towel lining the bottom.
Step 7
Mix yogurt, dill, lemon juice and garlic in a separate bowl. Add cucumber after letting it drain 10-15 min. season to taste with salt and pepper

Finishing Touches

Step 8
Serve meat on pita with lettuce, red onion, tomato, feta cheese abd Tzatziki Sauce.
