Instructions
Step 1
Separate the good Freekeh kernels from the bad ones, then wash them well with water and put them in a colander, then we soak it in water for 2 to 3 hours.
Step 2
Put the chopped onions in the cooking pot with the vegetable oil and sauté until it becomes golden in color.
Step 3
Add the washed Freekeh kernels to the pot and continue stirring for 5 minutes.
Step 4
Add the amount of broth with bay leaf and cardamom to the pot and leave it on a high heat with stirring from time to time until it begins to boil.
Step 5
Reduce the heat to the lowest level after boiling, then leave it until it is fully cooked for about 30 minutes.
Step 6
Lift the soup pot from the heat, then add salt, pepper and a little lemon, then stir the soup well and pour it hot in the serving dishes and distribute it on the dining table next to the main course.
