Instructions

Step 1
Roll out the puff pastry sheet so it is slightly thinner than how it comes. You’re only looking to loosen the gluten bonds and maybe add an inch on each side.
Step 2
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
OvenOvenPreheat
Step 3
Spread the Nutella onto your dough with an offset spatula or spoon. Cover the entire sheet evenly but leave one side with a 1 inch boarder uncovered.

Step 4
From the opposite side of the one you left uncovered, roll up the dough tightly. Stop just before you get to the uncovered boarder piece.
Step 5
Mix 1 tbsp water with your beaten egg in a small bowl.

Step 6
With a pastry brush or your fingers, coat the boarder piece with the egg wash and seal it to the dough log. You’re using the egg wash as a glue here.

Step 7
With a sharp knife, cut down the center of the dough log so you have 2 long pieces.
