Ingredients
4 servings
Cooking oil
one with a high burn temperature
1 packagePaneer
cubed
Mango Achari Sauce
to your taste preference, or Mango Chutney
Cilantro
or parsley, for garnish
0.5onions
0.5 inchginger
minced
1 TbspBlack onion seeds
Kalonji, if you don't think there is enough of this in the Achari Sauce
salt
to taste
2 Tbspfennel seeds
Amchur Powder
pinch or two if the dish is not tangy enough
Instructions
Step 1
Cut up paneer in cubes, onion, and ginger
Step 2
Heat oil in pan (or instant pot on sautée mode). Heat Fennel seeds, onion, ginger
Step 3
Place paneer in pan/pot to fry until a nice golden brown colour along with all other spices except the onions seeds. (I've been told by my mom that the trick is to have the oil hot and then lower the temperature for it to cook slow). Once it is almost brown put in the onion seeds (Kalonji)
Step 4
Put as much or as little sweet Mango chili sauce as you'd like (to your taste). Taste to see if you like it. If it is too sweet then put a pinch of Amchur Powder to make it more tangy.
Step 5
Plate. Garnish with cilantro or parsley and serve.
