Ingredients
4 servings
ORANGE SAUCE
4garlic cloves
finely chopped
2 thumbsginger
finely chopped
1 cuporange juice
4 Tbsptamari
can sub soy sauce
3 Tbsprice vinegar
white wine works too
2 Tbspmaple syrup
adjust depending on sweetness of orange
2 Tbspcornstarch
TOFU
1 packextra-firm tofu
drained pressed and cut in 2 inch pieces, 3-4-4
3 Tbspcornstarch
3 Tbsppeanut oil
GARNISH
Instructions
Step 1
Toss the tofu in cornstarch then fry in a pan with peanut oil on medium-high heat for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
Step 2
Mix all the sauce ingredients together in a bowl until well combined.
Step 3
Once the tofu is cooked, remove from the pan and place onto a plate with paper towel. Pour out any excess oil from the pan.
Step 4
Add the sauce to the pan on medium heat and allow it to cook down just slightly, then add the tofu and toss everything together until well coated. Adjust sweetness and thickness by playing with maple syrup, water, and cornstarch.
Step 5
Serve over rice.
