Instructions

COOKING DIRECTIONS

FOR GRITS: Bring chicken broth and milk to a boil.

Stir in grits and salt, return to boil. Do not add salt unless broth is unsalted. TIP: I add in 1 Tbsp crisco to prevent Grits from sticking😉

Cover and reduce heat to low.
Step 5
Cook 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 6
Stir in cheese.
Step 7
Keep warm.
Step 8
FOR SHRIMP TOPPING: Cook bacon in skillet til crisp.
Step 9
Remove bacon and all but 2 tablespoons of fat.
Step 10
Add peppers and onions, Cook till tender.
Step 11
Add shrimp and cook till pink.
Step 12
Return bacon.
Step 13
Add hot pepper sauce.
Step 14
Add salt and black pepper to taste.
Step 15
Serve shrimp mixture over warm grits.
Step 16
Garnish with green onions and cheese.
Step 17
