Masala

1 Tbspcoriander seeds

1 tspcumin seeds

1 tsppoppy seeds

1 inchcinnamon stick

1 tsppeppercorns

4dried red chillies

2 Tbsprice

4cardamom pods

6cloves

Instructions
Masala
Step 1
Roast spices in 250F oven for 5 minutes.
Step 2
Grind fine in a spice grinder. Can be stored for a few months.

In a saucepan, heat oil. Saute onion and ginger-garlic until brown. Add masala and turmeric. Saute until aroma is released.
Step 4
Add chicken pieces. Add diced potatoes if desired. Add coconut milk, season with salt and cook until chicken and potatoes are cooked through.
Step 5
Add tamarind paste, check salt to taste.
Step 6
Serve over rice or chapatis.
