Instant Pot Loaded Potato Soup (with a slow cooker version)

I added in more garlic and used extra mature cheddar cheese and some cream cheese. Was really yummy! Cheesey croutons ontop with crispy bacon!

First time making potato soup and it came out pretty well! Im pretty bad at cutting vegetables up to that took up most of my time but other than that it went fast making it. It tasted good and came out creamy just how I like. We did 6 mins instead of 10 minutes when we sealed it and added more salt, other than that we did everything exactly as it said.

To quote my husband "This is one of the best things you've ever made." It is delicious! I trippled the recipe so I can freeze it and have some for another night when I don't feel like cooking.

Was really easy. I left the peels on and used red potatos because that's what I had. Was really good!

I didn't have canned chicken soup, but I did have a container of sour cream that I added instead. I used vegetable stock instead of chicken stock. Cheese griller sausages cut up instead of bacon. My secret ingredient whenever I make soup is a tablespoon of vinegar (red wine in this case, but balsamic also works well). The rest was all the same. Absolutely amazing and quick to make. Just leaves you with a lot of dirty dishes.

Absolutely incredible. I used garlic salt instead of regular salt. And I added the chopped bacon on the last saute step instead of using it as a garnish to get more bacon flavor. Then finished it off with a dollop of sour cream.

I used cream instead of milk and flour . Needs more seasoning. Quick and easy.

The family loved this soup. It is hearty and delicious. I added a 4th clove of garlic and one more cup of chicken broth, and it came out perfect.

Delicious! I used yellow potatoes because I hate peeling potatoes, and it cut prep time down as I make bigger batches for my 8 kids. They loved it.

I added plenty of seasonings, cooked and crumbled turkey bacon, and it was delicious.

Might want to cook the potatoes separately to allow more salt.

It was a bit bland but I added the bacon into the soup and extra salt and pepper. I also added thyme and dry mustard

Added a lot more cheese during cooking and after serving. Cut up bacon to be a part of the soup. Left potatoes in chunks but I'm considering blending them next time

Reduced to 1 cup of cheese, gave recipient's an option to add more. Very good!

It’s good,. It’s a little bland so I added extra pepper and later added celery. I’d recommend using sharp cheddar to add flavor. I don’t have a instant pot, so I just used a regular stock pot. Boiled the potatoes separately before combining. Only took a few extra minutes and worked out great. I would make this again.

I used better than bullion roaster garlic and added corn with a Mexican cheese. I also added Italian seasoning cause it tasted kind of bland. But outcome was delicious.

Amazing soup, I used garlic powder and onion powder instead of fresh, as well as immersion blender and it came out fantastic. My only complaint is that peeling the potatoes took awhile. Then again I doubled the recipe

Potatoes pretty much dissolved ill cook them separately next time aswell i think ill use chedder brocali soup bext time to cut down on the chicken flavor . Added half a block of cream cheese

I changed this up a bit, but it was still amazing. I did this in the crockpot, added cream cheese, smoked sausage, and homemade egg noodles. It was absolutely delicious.

Absolutely amazing for a cold night and great leftovers. Shared some with our neighbor and my mom. Still had plenty for us. Will probably add more potatoes next time because why not

I made it right to the recipe. I used my homegrown potatoes and my homemade bacon. I will definitely make it again!!!

Was very delicious, BUT the potatoes were a little too thick. Even cooking on low for 8 hours they were still moderately hard. I'd recommend cutting them about 1/2 inch rather than an inch in order to get them to right taste. I also used the slow cooker recipe instead of instant pot.

I was pleasantly surprised how good this was. I skipped the milk and flour because I used an immersion blender to make it thick and creamy. I also added 1/2 cup of sour cream to stir in at the end too. Oh and I added paprika.

5 lbs of potatoes for the crockpot version. Use instant pot ingredients.

It turned out delicious! I love it! Warm and comforting as the weather turns colder.

super easy and tasted amazing i didn’t have an instant pot but it was still awesome my boyfriend loved it and took the leftovers to work i added thyme to give it more flavor would highly suggest

I decided to make this because I have a sore throat currently so soup is the safe option right now! It so deliciously creamy and smooth and for a bit of texture I put in some leftover rice I had from the main dinner, it is Devine also didn’t put bacon in just because it’s too hard but will definitely do that next time, I froze the rest for later 10/10 would reccomend

I added some Cayenne pepper, and it added an extra kick that I felt really made it complete

Super delish! I didn't use the slow cooker, just did it the old fashioned way and crisped up the bacon in the oven. I finished off with a couple of tablespoons of lemon juice and it was perfection. Absolutely inhaled it... 🤭

So good. halved the recipe and was delicious. Used Mexican cheese! Yum

Next time, I'll sub a small head of cauliflower for some of the potatoes.

I made this recipe in the crock pot, I did high for about 4 hours. Turned out good. 6 servings only fed 4 people tho.

The adults and the teen ate it…the teen had a 2nd bowl! I added some cream cheese (about 4oz) to help it get a bit creamy, and I used my potato mashed to get everything into smaller chunks. Will definitely make again.

First thing I ever made in my instant pot and it turned out absolutely delicious! It was super easy and was perfect for a cold January evening. Family even went back for seconds.

Pretty good overall but I will probably add either sour cream or cream cheese for the broth to make it more creamy

My sweetie loved it. Said the only thing he would do is add cream of celery instead of cream of chicken. Made Grilled cheese sandwiches to go with and total hit.

Next time I will mash the potatoes instead of blending them to leave some chunks. My family likes to chew their soup.

My family thinks I used too much pepper. So they felt mine was a bit on the spicy side. They said, "next time have the pepper on the side." Other then that, they enjoyed the creaminess. (This is the first time they have ever had potato soup. I have had potato soup before, but when I had it, it was very bland in comparison.)

On of our go-to rainy day recipes.

So good! Used 1/2 tbsp of cornstarch in place of flour (not sure it’s needed) and heavy cream in place of milk. Salt and pepper to taste. Will make many times over. Tons of leftovers, beware. Lol Made this again with a couple tweaks. It needs an extra cup of water. Still used heavy cream and did the tblsp of flour this this time. 3/4 tsp (will do 1/2 tsp next time) of celery salt instead of 1.5 tsp of regular salt. I don’t peel my potatoes (I like the skins, just scrub well before cutting) and added 1.5 tsp of garlic powder and onion powder. Also don’t garnish, I just dump precooked bacon pieces in with it (5oz this time). It was amazing!

Loved this recipe. For a better consistency I chose to blend it all once it was cooked in the pot but before adding the cheese. Once blended I threw in an additional 4 potatoes I boiled and cut into 1/2 inch cubes to make it a bit heartier. 10/10

This was a really yummy and thick soup! I did not add the flour to the milk bc I didn’t soak off my potatoes so I knew they would add a lot of starchy thickness to the soup and I was right. I have a instant pot duo mini and so I had to make it in 2 batches so it would all fit in the pot but totally worth having to make dinner twice ! Will definitely make again!

this soup was probably one of the best soups i’ve ever tasted. however, i was a little hesitant about this recipe but it ended up tasted rly good. i used heavy cream instead of milk, and i’ll tell u that’s definitely the way to go. also, one thing i’d change about the recipe is add more than just salt & pepper, & season the potatoes a little bit before you add them into the pot. otherwise this was a very good recipe.

Subbed the milk and cream for dairy free heavy cream. It tasted a bit bland but was better when I mixed in bacon bits. It looks quite fancy with bacon bits and green onions sprinkled on top. It has impressed the teachers this week.

I liked how easy this recipe was to put together but it thickened up too quickly and in the end was almost like mashed potatoes. I’d use a significant less amount of flour next time and would also reduce the time in the insta pot.

Will make again! I used half extra sharp cheese and extra pepper Definitely will have lots of left overs, for days!

I have been looking for a loaded potato recipe and am so glad I found this. I did mine in the crockpot which made for a super easy dinner. I used cream of chicken instead of the cream of celery the crock pot recipe calls for. I added some bacon during the cooking and then some more after. My husband said he would only add the bacon after because the crunch just elevated the soup. Will totally make this again!!

Used baking potatoes, didn't have any other potatoes.

I used butter, bacon fat and olive oil to prevent the butter from burning to start. Then added corn at the end to make it a little hardier. It was really good 😀

Used cream of mushroom, Yukon gold potatoes, & added corn, smoked sausage, & green chile. Omitted bacon only because we had none

It was really good I salted to taste I didn't measure and I did it for 17 minutes instead

I pressure cook for 12 minutes and use 4 cups broth

Easiest potato soup ever. I did mash the potatoes a little before adding the slurry. I like bits of potato in potato soup rather than chunks.

This is DELICIOUS 😋 I will definitely be making it again. However it definitely takes longer to make than the stated time. Maybe it takes that long AFTER you prep all the gosh dang ingredients, like peeling and chopping all those potatoes haha.

Only time consuming part was prepping the bacon, probably will use ham if I make again. But pretty good! Be warned it makes a ton,

With a little meal prep, this is a great weeknight meal! So yummy!

Flavors are great straight from the recipe, didn't really need to add anything. Recipe recommends shredding your own cheese but I used bag sharp cheddar and it melted just fine. The photo was taken of leftovers the next day. The first day it's a great soup consistency, the next day it was more like mashed potatoes, even after heating it up. This isn't a negative for me, and it still tastes great, just be aware it might not hold its soup consistency.

I added bacon grease to help enhance the bacon flavor just 1/2 a tablespoon yummy fantastic!!!!!

I didn't have any cream of chicken so I subbed some heavy cream and chicken Better Than Bullion, and it turned out good, albeit slightly thinner than I had expected. I also added shallots as well as onions, and some nutritional yeast, and it was delicious. Will make again as an excuse to try out my new immersion blender!
