Ingredients
6 servings
1 pound80% lean ground beef
1 cupsharp cheddar cheese shredded
½ cuppickled jalapeños
diced
1egg
¼ cuppanko breadcrumbs
1 tablespoonmilk
use whatever you normally buy
1 tablespoonworcestershire sauce
½ teaspoonblack pepper
½ teaspoonpaprika
½ teaspoonsalt
½ teaspoononion powder
½ teaspoongarlic powder
6hamburger buns
optional
Instructions
Step 1
Mix cheese, pickled jalapeños, egg, panko breadcrumbs, milk, Worcestershire sauce, and seasonings in a large bowl. Then add the ground beef and lightly mix until everything is combined. Do not overwork the beef.
Step 2
Divide the ground beef mixture into six even wedges (I cut it like a pizza). Then roll each wedge into a ball and smash it into a burger shape. The burgers should be slightly bigger than your buns. Place your thumb into the center of each burger to create an indentation. This prevents them from puffing up and shrinking when cooked.
Step 3
Heat your grill to 450°F. Place your burgers directly on the grill and cook for 5 minutes. Then flip the patties and cook for an additional 5-6 minutes, or until cooked to your preferred temperature (150°F for medium well). If you want to add cheese to the top of your burgers, do it in the last couple minutes of cooking. You can also toast your buns during that time.
