Instructions
Step 1
Combine tomato, onion, garlic, seasonings to taste, and water in blender until smooth.
Step 2
Heat large pan or wok on high. Add enough oil to to cover a layer of rice. Add rice to oil. Add more oil if needed.
Step 3
Use s silicone spatulas so you don't break the rice. Boil rice and oil about 5 minutes or until half of the rice has puffed up or popped like popcorn.
Step 4
Add a little sauce to the pot, have a lid ready as the hot oil will splatter toward your face. Then add remaining sauce. Stir and cover. Contrive boiling 5 min
Step 5
Stir, turn heat to low. Cover, let simmer about 25 min. Stir again, cover and cook 5 more minutes. Do not over stir.
Step 6
If using brown rice may need more water, add if needed and cook 5 minutes.
