Instructions
Step 1
Dice onion and set aside. Brown meat together in skillet with onion and garlic. Stir in crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, paste and water. Then add in sugar, seasonings and 2 Tablespoons of parsley. Stir and let simmer 1.5 hrs. If not using no-boil noodles, boil lasagna noodles in separate pot. In a small bowl, mix ricotta, egg, parsley and 1/2 tsp salt.
For the Layering
Step 2
In a deep baking dish, spread 1.5 cup of meat filling to bottom. Layer lasagna noodles to cover. Then coat with ricotta filling, sprinkle pieces of fresh mozzarella and Parmesan on top of ricotta filling. Repeat layers. DO NOT TRY TO ADD EXTRA NOODLES. Use enough noodles just to cover sauce barely, but don’t try to add more if you have a few extra. Sprinkle top of lasagna with remaining cheese. Cover with foil (sprayed with Pam) and bake 25 min at 375 F. Remove foil and bake another 25 min.
