Instructions
Step 1
Heat large nonstick saucepan coated in oil over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, sauté until tender.
Step 2
Add broth and broccoli. Bring broccoli mixture to a boil over medium high heat. Reduce to a simmer, cook 10 minutes.
Step 3
Combine milk and flour, stirring with whisk until smooth. Add to broccoli mixture. Cook 5 minutes or until slightly thick, stirring constantly.
Step 4
Stir in pepper. Remove from heat, add cheese, stirring until melted. Use immersion blender to thicken to desired consistency.
