Ever since I learned this recipe from a German chef I can’t stop making them . They are so easy to make and he showed me tips to make the crispiest potatoes ever !

Instructions
Step 1
Peel the potatoes then grate them on the fine setting of a box grater over a large bowl . This will make finer potatoes and they will be super crispy on the edges .

In the same bowl squeeze the liquid out of the potatoes then add them to a clean bowl . Reserve the potato water for later as there will be starch at the end which we will use
Step 3
Grate one small onion then add 1 egg a pinch of salt pepper and nutmeg . Get the reserved potato water and Drain the water off then mix the white starch that’s left into the potatoes .

Step 4
Heat oil in a pan on medium high heat then put a chopstick in to see if it bubbles and then you know it’s ready . Add spoonfuls of the mixture then flatten it out . Fry on both sides until it’s nice and golden and crisped around the edges . Drain on paper towels
Step 5
Add two peeled and sliced apples to a pot with some water lemon juice cinnamon and sugar . Bring to a boil then simmer until soft . Blend with a stick blender then serve it with the potatoes and enjoy
