Instructions

Step 1
Wash the rice 3 times until water runs clear.
Step 2
Add the rice to boiling water in the ratio 1:2.5 in a saucepan. Boil until cooked and fluffy.
Step 3
Add 7 tbsp coconut milk powder to a jug. Add the right amount of boiling water to get the right consistency of coconut milk (about 475 ml). Add salt to your taste.
Step 4
Pour the coconut milk into the cooked rice and stir well until soft.
Step 5
Flatten out onto a large tray and cut into 8 pieces.

Chop the onion into thin strips and the garlic cloves into small pieces.
Step 7
Heat up the oil in a pan on medium heat.
Step 8
Add the onion, garlic and curry leaves. Cook until almost golden brown and then add the salt, crushed chilli and sugar.
Step 9
Once cooked, serve a spoonful of sambal with a slice of milk rice and enjoy.
