This recipe makes two full loaves of bread. I usually cut the recipe in half and only knead for 5-6 minutes instead of 8-10.

Instructions

Step 1
Set aside one cup of all purpose flour from total amount.
Step 2
Mix remaining flour, sugar, salt and yeast in a large mixing bowl.
Step 3
Heat water milk and margarine until hot to touch (125°F to 130°F).
Step 4
Stir hot liquids into dry mixture.
Step 5
Mix in enough reserved flour to make a soft dough that doesn’t stick to the bowl.
Step 6
Turn out onto floured board and knead until smooth and elastic, about 8-10 minutes.
Step 7
Cover dough and let rest for 10 minutes.
Step 8
Cut dough in half and shape in loaves. Place in 2 greased 9x5 inch loaf pans.
Step 9
Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled in bulk, about 40-50 minutes.
Step 10
Bake at 400°F for 30-35 minutes. Remove from pans and cool on wire racks.
