Instructions

Step 1
• Preheat oven to 350F. Prepare a loaf pan by greasing it with non-stick cooking spray.
Step 2
• Brown the butter on the stove, and place in the freezer for 15-20 minutes until soft set.
Step 3
• In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to cream together the 2/3 cup granulated sugar and browned butter until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs and vanilla, just until combined.
Step 4
• In a small mixing bowl, whisk together the flour and baking powder and spices. Add the flour mixture to the wet mixture and stir until combined. Add the buttermilk and apple butter, mixing until smooth.
Step 5
• Pour half of the batter into the prepared loaf pan and spread out evenly.
Step 6
• In a small mixing bowl, combine the apple filling ingredients. Pour half of the apples over the batter in the pan, then spread on the remaining batter. Top with the remaining apples and press the apples down slightly.
Step 7
• To prepare the streusel topping, Whisk together the flour, sugar, oats, and salt. Work in the butter with your fingers, mixing until coarse crumbs form.
Step 8
• Sprinkle the streusel evenly over the top of the apples and batter.
Step 9
• Bake at 350F for 1 hour, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Cool in the pan for about 30 minutes.
Step 10
• In a small bowl, combine the glaze ingredients until smooth. Drizzle over the cooled bread.
Step 11
• Slice the bread and serve.
