This vegan hotdog is full of beans-the sausage is topped with tasty chilli, jalapenos in a light batter and some cooling avocado crema. Plus, there's a super side dish of crisp potato balls loaded with vegan cheese sauce and bacon bits.

For the vegan chilli

1 Tbspolive oil

1red onion
finely diced

1red pepper
large, seeds removed and finely diced

1celery stick
finely diced

2garlic cloves
crushed

1 tspchilli powder

1 tspground cumin

1 tspsmoked paprika

1 tspdried oregano

1 Tbsptomato puree

400gtin chopped tomatoes

400gtin red kidney beans

100mlred wine

1 Tbspsugar

1bay leaf

salt
Freshly ground black peper
For the potato balls

3floury potatoes
large, such as Maris Piper, peeled

1 tspgarlic powder

1 tsponion powder

1 tspdried oregano

1 tspsmoked paprika

60gplain flour

vegetable oil
for deep frying
For the fried jalapenos
For the avocado crema
For the cheese sauce
Instructions
Step 1
First, make the vegan chilli. Warm the olive oil in a large saucepan over a medium heat until shimmering, add the onion, pepper, celery and a pinch of salt and cook for about 10 min, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are tender.
