Instructions

Step 1
Add water, melted butter, condensed milk and salt & sugar to a bowl. Mix well until incorporated. Now add the flour and work the dough until shaggy.
Step 2
Transfer the dough to a lightly oiled surface and knead for 5 minutes until perfectly smooth. Divide it into 5 equal balls and place them aside (brush with a little oil and cover) let them rest for an hour
Step 3
Heavily oil your counter and shape the balls into squares with your hands, going as thin as possible. Fold each side towards the center (4 folds) and set aside once again.
Step 4
After letting the folded roti relax for 15 minutes, press once again to thin it out one last time.
Step 5
Add 2tbsp of oil to a pan and bring it to medium/high heat. Cook on both sides for 4-5 minutes until brown and flakey on the outside. The roti canai will now be ready and still soft on the inside. Slap the bread from side to side a few times and enjoy!
