Instructions

Step 1
1. Cook the pasta in salted water, reserve some pasta water in case the sauce is too thick later.
Step 2
2. To a large pan add the butter and melt over medium heat. Add the garlic, stir for 30 seconds and add in the flour. Whisk until incorporated.
Step 3
3. Pour in the wine (or broth) in, add the red pepper flakes, salt and pepper to taste (be generous). Slowly pour in the cream while whisking continuously. Add in the lemon juice and zest. Let sauce bubble slightly to thicken. Add in the Parmesan cheese and stir until melted.
Step 4
4. Add in the cooked pasta and mix well. Add in reserved pasta water if the sauce is too thick.
Step 5
5. Garnish with parsley and extra Parmesan cheese.
