Instructions

Step 1
Wash lentils until water runs clear then soak for 20 minutes . Drain then add to a pot with salt turmeric chili powder coriander powder and garam masala . Stir and bring to a boil then half cover with a lid and reduce to medium low heat

Step 2
Add half the onion a 5 cm piece of ginger 4 cloves of the garlic and a large tomato to a blender then blend and add to the lentils . Cook stirring for about 15 minutes

To make the tadka melt ghee ( clarified butter ) in a small pan then add the remaining onion sliced , the remaining garlic sliced the cumin seeds sliced chili and curry leaves and fry until it’s a golden color

Take the lentils off the heat and pour the sizzling tadka on top then serve with your favorite sides maybe some naan bread and rice and some fresh coriander . Enjoy
