Instructions
Step 1
Put the lentils in a pot to boil in 700 ml water for 20 minutes.
Step 2
Simultaneously in a separate pan, heat the oil on a medium heat and add mustard and cumin seeds.
Step 3
As soon as they start to pop, add the ginger and garlic paste with the chopped green chillies.
Step 4
Cook for a few minutes, and add the chopped tomato with all the spices.
Step 5
Cook until the tomato turns into a paste. If it sticks to the pan, add a little bit of water.
Step 6
Once the paste is ready, mix it with the boiled lentils and add 150 ml water. Cook further for 10 minutes to reduce the amount of liquid. The consistency can be adjusted to your personal preference.
Step 7
Garnish with coriander .
