Instructions

Step 1
Take the chicken pieces and rub salt all over them. Leave them to marinate for 30 minutes. After 30 minutes, strain the chicken and make sure it is completely dry.
Step 2
Heat up oil in a pan on medium heat. Fry the chicken pieces in the hot oil for 8-10 minutes, or until they are slightly browned. Once fried, remove the chicken from the pan and let it cool down completely.
Step 3
In a bowl, add whisked yogurt, ginger garlic paste, garam masala, red chilli powder, chaat masala, cumin powder, coriander powder, turmeric, and food colour. Squeeze fresh lemon juice into the bowl and mix all the ingredients together.
Step 4
Add the fried chicken pieces to the bowl with the marinade. Make sure the chicken is well coated with the marinade. Set the bowl aside and let the chicken marinate for 2 hours.
Step 5
In a pot, add water and place a steamer on top. Place the marinated chicken pieces on the steamer. Cover the pot with a lid and steam the chicken for 30-40 minutes.
Step 6
After steaming, remove the chicken from the pot and let it cool down slightly before serving.
