Instructions
Step 1
Start by marinating the chicken. In a bowl, combine yogurt, Kashmiri red chili powder, garam masala, ground turmeric, ground cumin, ground coriander, Himalayan salt, kasuri meethi, red food color, and mustard oil. Mix well to make a smooth marinade.
Step 2
Add the chicken pieces to the marinade and coat them well. Make sure all the chicken pieces are covered with the marinade. Let the chicken marinate for at least 1 hour or overnight in the refrigerator.
Step 3
Once marinated, you have two options for cooking the chicken. You can either cook it in a pan until tender or bake it in the oven. If cooking in a pan, heat some oil in a pan and cook the chicken until it's tender and cooked through. If baking, preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake the marinated chicken for 20-25 minutes or until it's cooked through. Let the cooked chicken cool down completely.
Step 4
Preheat the oven to the temperature indicated on the puff pastry package or 190c
Step 5
Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface. Cut them into 4-inch squares. Or I used readymade 4 inches square sheets.
Step 6
Place a spoonful of the tandoori chicken filling in the middle of each puff pastry square.
Step 7
Place another square sheet on top and use fork or pinch the sides to seal the edges.
Step 8
Use a sharp knife to make three slits on the top of each puff pastry patty to allow steam to escape during baking.
Step 9
Beat an egg in a small bowl and brush the tops of the puff pastry patties with the beaten egg. Sprinkle sesame seeds on top for added flavor and texture.
Step 10
Place the puff pastry patties on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Step 11
Bake the puff pastry patties in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes or until they are golden brown and crispy. Make sure don’t open the door of the oven otherwise patties will deflate.
Step 12
Once baked, remove the puff pastry patties from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.
Step 13
