Pad Kra Pao (Thai Pork and Basil) (serves 4)
Part 20 in my Fakeaway Series a dish I love! And it’s so easy to recreate at home.
Pad Kra Pao (Thai Pork and Basil) (serves 4)
1 small onion diced
1 heaped tsp. garlic paste
500g pork mince
5 Thai chillies sliced
2 tbsp. Oyster sauce
2 tbsp. Fish sauce
1 tbsp. dark soy
1 heaped tsp. sugar
Handful fresh Thai basil
Method:
1: Pre-heat a frying pan along with a splash of oil, cook the onion and garlic for 3-4 minutes until softened. Add the Pork mince and Cook over a high heat for five minutes until Golden. Once cooked stir through the oyster sauce, fish sauce, soy and sugar then cook for a further minute. Finally stir through the chilli and Thai basil until wilted. Serve with the portion of rice.
