Prepare the paste

Add more water if required
Tadka
Step 3
Heat oil in a tadka pan over medium heat
Step 4
Add mustard seeds and allow them to pop
Step 5
Turn the heat off and then add asafetida/hing and curry leaves
Step 6
Add curry leaves, be careful, as the oil may splatter
Step 7
Add Tadka to Chutney
