For the sauce
Instructions
Step 1
Melt the butter and fry thyme
Step 2
Reduce heat. Add onions and use tongs to arrange the onion (thick slices) in pan
Step 3
Cook gently for 20 minutes
Step 4
Preheat oven to 160 c (fan oven)
Step 5
Add vinegar and bubble for two minutes until slightly reduced and caramelised
Step 6
Set pan aside and let cool for 5 minutes
Step 7
Cut goats cheese into rounds and put on top of onions
Step 8
Roll out pastry slightly larger than dish used. Lay over filling and brush with egg yolk
Step 9
Cook in oven for 25 minutes or until golden
Make sauce
Step 10
Add all sauce ingredients. Pulse together with 1 tbs water until chunky
Step 11
Remove tart from oven and leave for 5 mins
Step 12
Then pour over sauce
