Instructions

Step 1
Combine the rice and water in a medium saucepan and bring the water to just under a boil. Lower the temperature to a slow simmer and cover. Let the rice cook for Io to I5 minutes, or until the water is gone, 2. Turn the heat down to low and add the milk slowly in several batches, about a % cup at a time, stirring regularly. Continue adding milk every 5 minutes or so, until the whole mixture has thickened to a consistency you like and the rice is soft. Stir in the honey, salt, and vanilla. Taste and adjust the sweetness to your liking, and serve topped with your choice of extra honey, butter, dried fruits, nuts, cinnamon, nutmeg, or heavy cream
