Step 1
Grease your slow cooker with cooking spray or use a slow cooker liner
Step 2
Slice your onion and pepper into strips and layer on the bottom of the slow cooker. The veggies will act as a stand to make sure all the seasoning doesn't get washed off the meat by the soda
Step 3
Rub a thin layer of mustard on your meat to act as a binder. Use your choice of barbecue seasoning and coat the meat evenly. Make sure to rub in the seasoning really well. Add to crock pot, making sure the veggies hold it off the bottom.
Step 4
Pour the soda and vinegar to the side of the meat, so the seasoning doesn't get washed off.
Step 5
Cook on high 4 hours or low 8 hours.
Step 6
Remove meat and shred. In a separate bowl, mix the shredded meat, cooked onions and peppers and your choice of barbecue sauce.
