Instructions

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 425°

Slice the tomatoes into wedges
Step 3
Slice the bell pepper into thin strips
Step 4
Place the tomatoes and bell peppers on a baking sheet, bake for 20 minutes.

Once the 20 minutes is up, broil them until slightly charred
Step 6
Meanwhile, in a large pot, heat a drizzle of olive oil and melt the butter.

Add the minced onion and sautee for 2-3 minutes

Add the garlic, sautee for 2-3 minutes
Step 9
Add the chopped basil and tomato paste, mix and sautee for 2-3 minutes
Step 10
Add tomatoes, bell peppers, and chicken broth to the pot
Step 11
Add all the spices and the heavy cream. Mix thoroughly
Step 12
Using an immersion blender or a blender, blend until desired consistency.
Step 13
Serve
