Instructions

Step 1
Season Bavette steak generously with salt and pepper.
Step 2
Heat olive oil in cast iron skillet over high heat.
Step 3
Once hot cook for 3-4 minutes on each side for medium-rare.
Step 4
Remove steak from the skillet and let it rest.
Step 5
Reduce the heat to medium and in the same skillet add garlic and shallot. Sauté until fragrant and translucent.
Step 6
Deglaze the pan with whiskey, scraping up any brown bits.
Step 7
Stir in heavy cream and Dijon mustard.
Step 8
Simmer until sauce thickens slightly.
Step 9
Slice steak against the grain and serve with whiskey garlic cream sauce. Garnish with fresh thyme.
