Step 1
1. Put the onion, garlic, ginger soy sauce, sugar mirin, oil and chilli paste into a large bowl and stir to combine. Add the meat and turn to coat. Cover and place in fridge for at least 2 hours or overnight.
Step 2
2. Place beef together with marinade in the slow cooker. Add carrots and stir to mix. Cover and cook on high for about 6 hours or 8 hours on low. Add the potatoes in for the last 2 hours of cooking.
Step 3
3. Serve immediately with fresh cooked rice
