Slow cooker beef stew recipe ideal for winter and serves up to four people. Served with either mashed potatoes or steamed rice.

1. Mix seasonings and flour together and coat the beef cubes with the mixture.
2. Add about 10ml of olive to the pan (enough to slightly cover) and fry the beef until golden brown. Add fried beef to empty slow cooker.
3. Cut celery sticks, carrots, and white oninions into sizes of your choice.
4. Add remaining olive oil to pan and fry the celery stick, carrots and white onions until caramelised whereby you can then add the tomato paste.
5. Add red wine to celery stick, carrots and white onion mixture and let it shimmer for about 5 minutes and then add it to the slow cooker.
6. Add well mixed beef broth and hearty beef stew to slow cooker mixture.
7. Add rosemary leaves and thyme sprigs to slow cooker mixture and cover with the slow cooker lid.
8. Place your slow cooker on high heat and let the beef stew cook for about 4-6 hours.
