Rinse peas till water is almost clear

Blend Onions fine in some water, added to pot

Add last 9 ingredients

Add water to 1 inch from top, cover and cook low for 6 to 8 hours can also cook in the oven at 300

Stir every hour or so, until all peas are smooth. Add extra water for desired thickness

Remove ham from bone, throw the bone return ham to the pot
Step 10
Add extra salt and Black Pepper to taste
Step 11
This comes out very thick, can be thinned with more water
