Instructions
Step 1
Rinse the rice in a bowl 3-4 times with cold water or until the water runs clear.
Step 2
Add 3 cups of water in a cooking pot and bring to a boil. Once boiling, add in the salt and butter and stir until the butter melts.
Step 3
Allow the water to return to a boil. Once boiling, stir in the rice. Let the water return to a light simmer. Stir again, then cover the pot with a lid and turn the heat down to low. It is important for the heat to be at low or the rice can potentially burn while cooking.
Step 4
Let the rice cook on low for about 15 minutes, do not remove the lid or touch it while cooking preferably. Depending on the amount of rice cooking, if making a greater quantity than the ingredients listed the cooking time may increase.
Step 5
After 15 minutes, turn off the heat and let it sit for another 10 minutes to finish absorbing any liquid. Do not take off the lid until the 10 minute resting period is complete.
Step 6
After 10 minutes of resting, take off the lid, fluff the rice with a fork and let it sit for another 2 minutes or so, so that some of the excess moisture in the rice dries off. Serve and enjoy!
