Southern Fried Bacon, Shrimp & Sausage Cabbage

This is an southern classic take on cabbage and sausage with my own twist.

8 slicessmoky bacon
cut into bite-sized pieces

1 lbShrimp

2 packageandouille sausage

2onions
medium, cut into chunks

2red bell pepper
medium, cut into chunks

2 headcabbage

4 clovesgarlic
minced

2 teaspoonssmoked paprika

2 teaspoonscajun seasoning

1 teaspoonsalt

½ teaspoonblack pepper

¼ teaspoonred pepper flakes

Season shrimp: drizzle w/evoo & season with cajun seasoning (Set aside)

1. Heat a large 12-inch skillet on medium heat and add the diced bacon, cook until crispy, and remove to a paper towel. Save some of the bacon grease.

3. Add shrimp to skillet and cook on each side until pink about 1-2 minutes per side, remove and set

4. Add in the diced onions and peppers and cook just until softened.
Step 5
5. Turn down the heat to medium-low and add in the chopped cabbage, garlic, paprika, cajun seasoning, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if adding.
Cook the cabbage for 8-10 minutes or until it begins to wilt tossing every minute or so.. Add back in the cooked bacon, shrimp and sausages, toss and serve!
