Instructions

Step 1
poke holes in the potato and microwave for 5 minutes until soft, rinse under cold water and peel with your hands before mashing with a fork or masher

add the egg, and then gradually incorporate the flour with your hands or a fork until you get a smoothe dough

roll into 4 logs and chop into balls depending on how large you want them

bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and add the potato balls for a couple of minutes or until they float to the top of the water

for the chilli oil

meanwhile make the chilli oil by adding the chilli flakes, minced garlic, chopped spring onion, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sugar, msg, salt, and sesame seeds to a heat proof bowl

heat up the oil in a skillet or pan until piping hot and pour over the garlic, chilli mixture, it should bubble and crisp up, and smell amazing!

strain the potato balls and add to the chilli oil, coating well before garnishing with spring onion and coriander if using
