Sticky Soy Chicken with Sesame Broccolini

Instructions

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 220° c fanforced. Line a large baking tray with foil (not paper as it will burn under the oven grill).

Marinade chicken

Step 2
Mix the sauce ingredients in a bowl

Add the chicken and tossed a coat

Place the chicken on the tray and dab the surface with the residual source left in the bowl

Set the bowl aside for later use

Bake

Bake for 10 minutes

Remove the tray from the oven

Switch the oven grill to high and position the shelf 15cm from the heat source

Make glaze

While the chicken is in the oven, make the glaze by mixing the dark soy and honey in the used bowl

Broccolini

In a separate bowl, toss together the sesame broccolini ingredients, using your hands to massage the oil and ginger into the florets

Spread the broccolini on the tray around the chicken

Glaze

Dab half the glaze onto the chicken surface

Place under the grill for 5 minutes

Remove from the oven and dab with more glaze, than grill again until the surface is nicely caramelized and the broccolini florets are charred and crispy, about 2-3 minutes

Rest and serve

Step 15
Remove the tray from the oven. Sprinkle the broccolini with sesame seeds. Transfer the chicken and broccolini to serving plates and serve with rice, if desired, drizzled with the tray juices
