Ingredients
12 servings

2 ½ cupspuffed rice

1 ¾ cupsquick oats
regular rolled oats work too

¼ cupwheat germ
or ground flax seed, wheat bran, or additional oats

½ cupcoconut
or other mix ins, optional, chopped nuts, raisins or other dried fruit, sesame or sunflower seeds

½ cuphoney

½ cupbrown sugar

¼ teaspoonsalt

⅔ cuppeanut butter

1 teaspoonvanilla extract

½ cupchocolate chips
Instructions
Step 1
Combine first 4 dry ingredients in a bowl.




Step 2
In a saucepan, mix the honey, brown sugar, and salt. Stir and heat to boiling over medium-low heat.



Step 3
Remove from heat and stir in the peanut butter and vanilla until smooth.


Step 4
Pour over the dry ingredients and mix well.
Step 5
Let cool for 5–10 minutes before mixing in the chocolate chips.

Step 6
Press into a greased 9×13 pan and let cool before cutting into bars.
