Ingredients
8 servings
2 lbsground beef
or sausage, or half of each
1 x 16 ozpasta
box, penne, rotini, or ziti work best
1 jarpasta sauce
or more if you like it saucy
1 x 8 ozcream cheese
softened
1 ½ cupricotta cheese
or cottage
3 cupsshredded mozzarella cheese
¾ cupgrated parmesan
2 tspgarlic powder
salt
to taste
pepper
to taste
1 tspItalian seasoning
Optional, or crushed red pepper
Alfredo sauce
jar
crushed red pepper
Instructions
Step 1
Cook the pasta: Boil in salted water until just al dente (a little firm). Drain and set aside.
Step 2
Cook the meat: In a large deep skillet or pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain any grease.
Step 3
Add sauce: Stir in your pasta sauce and seasonings. Let it simmer for 5 minutes.
Step 4
Make the creamy mix: In a bowl, mix together cream cheese, ricotta (or cottage cheese), and half the mozzarella.
Step 5
Combine: Add the pasta to the skillet with the meat sauce. Stir to coat evenly. Then spoon in dollops of the cheese mixture and lightly swirl it in - don't overmix.
Step 6
Top& melt: Sprinkle the remaining 1 1/2 cups of mozzarella and parmesean on top. Cover and cook on low heat for 5-10 minutes, until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
