Instructions

Step 1
Heat a large non-stick skillet over medium heat. Add the beef, garlic, onion powder, and red pepper flakes. Cook until meat is browned. Drain fat.
Step 2
Add meat to crock pot. Add marinara sauce, tomatoes, tomato paste, balsamic vinegar, sugar, basil, salt, oregano, black pepper, bay leaf, chicken broth, and zucchini.
Step 3
Cook on low for 6 hours. Thirty minutes before serving, add the spinach and pasta.
Step 4
When ready to serve, discard the bay leaf. Garnish each bowl with a scoop of ricotta and sprinkle of mozzarella.
