Slow cooker butter chicken

A lighter slow cooker twist on traditional butter chicken: chicken breast simmered with onions, garlic, ginger and spices, then finished with low-fat yoghurt for a creamy sauce.

Instructions

Step 1
Heat the butter in a frying pan.
Step 2
Gently fry the onions for 10 minutes until soft but not coloured.
Step 3
Add the garlic, ginger, garam masala and tomato purée to the onions and fry for a minute.
Step 4
Tip into the slow cooker with all of the other ingredients except the yoghurt.
Step 5
Cover with the lid and cook on medium for 4 hours.
Step 6
Stir in the yoghurt before serving.
Step 7
Serve with naan or rice, if liked.
