Instructions
Step 1
Peel and slice the onions into thin strips. Wash and slice the tomatoes.
Step 2
Heat a pan over medium heat and add oil and the sliced onions. Immediately add 2 tbsp sugar and a little salt. Cook over low heat, stirring occasionally. Fry for 10–12 minutes until the onions caramelize. Then add the balsamic vinegar and simmer for a few more minutes until the onions become soft.
Step 3
Prepare the sauce by mixing together the BBQ sauce, mayonnaise, and mustard.
Step 4
Rinse the arugula under cold water and let it drain.
Step 5
Heat a little oil in the same pan over medium heat. Add the burger patties and cook for 4 minutes on both sides. Towards the end of cooking, place the goat cheese on top of the patties so it softens. Toast the burger buns on both sides.
Step 6
Spread sauce on the bottom bun, then add tomato, burger patty, goat cheese, caramelized onions, arugula, and the top bun. Enjoy!
